A Piece of History
Bartonville Hardware Co has been a staple of the Bartonville, IL area for over 60 years. Earl McCoy and Mac McCowan opened Bartonville Hardware Co at 5615 S. Adams St. in 1951, after having worked together at F. Meyer Hardware in Peoria, IL. Earl and his wife Isabelle ran the store after Mac's departure in 1953 and worked hard to provide the best in customer service. The store bought from many different hardware wholesalers before joining the HWI (now Do it Best Corp.) family in 1970. Earl was an active member of the community, being a board member of Bartonville Bank and a member of the Bartonville Lions Club. After his passing in 1965, Isabelle continued working at the store along with their son Greg until her passing in 1988.
Today, Greg and his wife Carol run Bartonville Hardware Co, along with their two sons Jeff and Tim, with occasional help from the newest generation of McCoys: Melina, Kaia, Kate, and Molly. The McCoys are actively involved in delivering the best quality of hardware service that you deserve. We will treat you like you are a member of our growing family.
